To All National Associations
We are delighted to invite you to our workshop “The long journey towards safe travel” taking place on February 24th, 2021 (14:00-16:00 Brussels time).
The workshop will focus on the next steps towards safe travel: over the past year, the European tourism sector was hit hard by COVID-19 and is still suffering from continued, uncoordinated travel restrictions and prolonged uncertainty. HOTREC is now working together with international and European stakeholders to prepare for the reopening of the sector despite the current travel situation.
This virtual event will be divided into two panels, preceded by a presentation on the latest trends and prospects for European tourism by Ms. Lyublena Dimova, Research Manager at the European Travel Commission (ETC).
The first panel “Promoting safe travel in Europe” will count with the participation of high-level speakers from industry partners, namely:
- Mr. Tim Fairhurst, Secretary General at the European Tourism Association (ETOA)
- Ms. Agnès Leroux, Policy Director at Airlines for Europe (A4E)
- Ms. Lola Uña Cárdenas, VP Government Affairs at the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC)
In the second panel, “Engaging at national level: how to reopen in a healthy and safe environment”, Ms. Susanne Kraus Winkler, President of Fachverband Hotellerie (APHA, Austria), and Ms. Kate Nicholls, CEO at UKHospitality, will share their commitment and engagement at national level to ensuring safe reopening of hospitality establishments.
We are counting with your comments / ideas / input, so that fruitful discussions can be established with the speakers during the workshop.
This invitation is also extended to your members.
We hope to see you numerous online!
